The art of the line
This collection presents works that explore the art of line and flow. The works engage abstraction and minimalism while addressing themes of exaltation, inspiration, existence, and spirituality.
The minimalist approach reflects a disengagement from ego. Rather than emphasizing technical mastery, the drawings allow an intuitive, childlike and expressive mind to guide the line. Through this process, the work evokes moments of beauty, joy, and mysticism.
Many drawings return to the recurring subject of ballerinas, influenced by Degas’s impetus exploration of ballet and ballerinas. These works reflect on the beauty of movement and the human relationship to expressive motion. Other works explore metaphors of line as lives and existences, often intersecting with other lines. Within these intersections, shapes emerge that may be interpreted as relationships, friendships, families, love, faces, shared journeys, moments of inspiration, or celebration.
